Thanks to sunny June and July and rainy August, grapes have been reached a full maturity.
Just before we started the harvest, the vines are beautiful with healthy grapes. On Wednesday, September 2, the first secateurs cuts have been given at Domaine Michel Magnien and Maison Frédéric Magnien. The perfect maturity of the grapes is reached with an optimum balance between acidity, sugar and polyphenols.
Having fully anticipated and prepared this harvest, Frédéric and its teams have harvested for eight days, enjoying a cool and dry weather! Almost 90 grape-pickers have furrowed through the Côte de Nuits to reap high quality and healthy grapes.
On arrival in winery, grapes have been selected on sorting table to keep only sane and mature grape before vinification.
The organic vines were not touched by disease or insects. Grapes, from these plots, are very concentrated with delicious aromas. The biodynamic cultural methods are very demanding but Frédéric is very proud of the results.
Thanks to its great potential, 2015 is a vintage with a rare quality, probably the best vinified by Frédéric.
